Tras «Won’t Stand Down» y «Compliance», Muse vuelven a sacar su lado más político, revolucionario y distópico en su nuevo single y vídeo titulado «Will of the People», tercer adelanto del disco homónimo previsto para el 26 de agosto. Necesitamos una transformación, una revolución, para mantenernos libres, nos cantan los británicos, y para ello apelan a la voluntad del pueblo como motor fundamental de todo este cambio.
La canción posee un estribillo muy contagioso que ya ha sido comparado, por su similitud, con el del conocido tema «The Beautiful People» de Marilyn Manson, aunque la música no solo se aleja de la oscuridad del norteamericano, sino que posee un regusto alegre que nos recuerda al glam rock. A nivel visual, vemos a unos revolucionarios tapados con máscaras derribar unos gigantescos bustos de los miembros de la formación. Revolucionarios que, cuando se quitan las caretas y muestran sus rostros, son los propios Muse. Esto podría interpretarse como una metáfora del famoso lema «renovarse o morir». En este caso los músicos no tendrían problemas en derribarse a sí mismos del pedestal en el que se han aposentado tras casi tres décadas de carrera, dando lugar a una posible metamorfosis o renovación de la banda y su música.
Recordemos que el domingo 26 de junio tendremos la fortuna de tener a Muse en Mallorca para cerrar por todo lo alto el Mallorca Live Festival 2022. Una banda de talla mundial para un festival que año tras año no para de sorprendernos.
