Dave Whelan y Mike Di Scala son CamelPhat, el dúo de música electrónica más famoso del mundo en Ushuaïa Ibiza todos los martes de este verano del 14 de junio al 27 de septiembre de 2022
Cuando ya trabajaban de DJs en conocidos clubes de Liverpool, Dave y Mike se conocieron personalmente mientras realizaban sus compras en una tienda de discos. Whelan ya era el organizador desde 2004 de una de las noches en Jubilee. Por su parte Di Scala ya hacia sus pinitos como parte de Ultrabeat y Rezonance y habia iniciado su carrera como solista. De este fortuito encuentro nació Les Calvert en The Chosen Few con la que produjeron importantes sesiones entre las que se encuentra la versión de Tears for Fears: Everybody Wants to Rule the World.
Algunos de los singles anteriores a la fundación de CamelPhat como: Shot Away el tema basado en la canción Gimme Shelter de The Rolling Stones, cuando se hacían llamar Pawn Shop, llegó a colarse en la lista de los 100 primeros del Reino Unido. Aunque también podemos encontrar remixes con su firma como The Bassline Hustlers, Men from Mars, Da Mode, Mancini o Whelan & Di Scala.
Al principio de la década de los 2010 es cuando lanzan sus primeros temas como CamelPhat bajo el sello creado para ello: Vice Records. Una época en la que subían a los escenarios ataviados con mascaras de lucha libre para evitar ser juzgados por quienes eran en vez de por su propuesta musical, llegando a comprar el club Liverpool Mansion para convertirlo en el lugar que toda la ciudad quería entrar.
Algunos de sus temas más renombrados de la famosa listas Ultrapop de Bélgica son The Act en el 2014, Constellations y Paradigm en 2015, al año siguiente Make ‘Em Dance y un año después Hangin’ Out with Charlie. En 2018 fueron nominados a un Grammy por la mejor grabación dance por su participación en Elderbrook «Cola». Desde entonces se han centrado en consolidar su sonido para llegar a convertirse en uno de los más vendidos de todos los tiempos. Una muestra de ello es el disco Dark Matter, que está plagado de importantes colaboraciones como Noel Gallagher, Ali Love, Yannis Philippakis of Foals o Jake Bugg y Cristoph.
En 2019 ya pasaron por Ibiza como residentes en Hï Ibiza, la cual fué una de las mas concurridas en verano. Despues de ello llegaron una residencia en Las Vegas y su paso por diversos festivales como Lost & Found, Kappa Future, Parklife, Hideout, y Creamfields.
Este verano CamelPhat, llegan con un renovado espectáculo con el que pretenden no dejará a nadie indiferente en Ushuaïa Ibiza. Todos los martes del 14 de junio al 27 de septiembre estrena residencia con la que presentar sus últimos temas publicados como Temperament of the Beat, One Summer y The Future. Already working as DJs in well-known Liverpool clubs, Dave and Mike met face-to-face while shopping at a record store. Whelan was already the organizer since 2004 of one of the nights at Jubilee. For his part, Di Scala was already taking his first steps as part of Ultrabeat and Rezonance and had started his career as a soloist. Les Calvert was born from this fortuitous encounter in The Chosen Few with which they produced important sessions, including the version of Tears for Fears: Everybody Wants to Rule the World.
